Home > Resources: BoxShot Templates Information

Template Contents:

Each template package is a zipped file consisting of 2D images of each box panel (sides, front and sometimes top). There are no 3D images in the templates. The idea of these templates is that you can add your own text and images using any 2D graphics editor and then load the edited panels into a boxshot making program to produce your 3D box. Each template consists of:

  • 2D box panels in png format (*.png)

  • 2D box panels in adobe photoshop format (*.psd)

The box sizes may seem large (many are 350x500x130), but for best quality it is better to design your box panels at this size and then have the boxshot making program reduce the box to the size you ultimately want.

How to Gain Access to the Downloadable Templates:

This gallery is open to anyone who has purchased a boxshot making program from our site. Another way to gain access, is to send us 1 or 2 non-trivial templates for inclusion in this gallery and we will send you the information you need (name and password) to access all the templates. Finally, you can also find some of these boxshots available for $1-$2 at BigStockPhoto (as well as additional 3D boxshot images by other graphic artists).

Tip for Users of Quick 3D Cover

Many of the box designs in Quick 3D Cover require a width-to-height ratio of 10:12 which produces quite a wide-looking box. Most of the templates in the gallery are more in the more popular range of 7:12 through to 9:12. Therefore if you want to use a template image in Quick 3D Cover, you should stretch the template's front panel of the box to the proper ratio BEFORE you add text and images. If you don't, you will find that Quick 3D Cover will horizontally stretch your text and images that you add to the front panel (perhaps resulting in unwanted distortion).
